Is your iPhone feeling lonely? Does it need a friend – or perhaps some buds? I’ve tested and reviewed hundreds of earbuds throughout the years, and I currently use an iPhone, actually. So if you’ve been looking for a pair of the best earbuds for your iPhone, here are six of them for you to consider.
Two that are under $100, two that cost under $200, and two earbuds that I consider my best picks overall. And no, this blog post isn’t just going to be all about AirPods (though they will come up), so keep reading! 🙂
Best earbuds for iPhone under $100
When it comes to the best earbuds for iPhone under $100, I was originally going to recommend the EarFun Air Pro 4 because, for $90, it offers a lot of great features, including good sound quality and ANC.
However, after digging through testing data and doing some research on pricing, I found another pair of earbuds that offers very similar performance but can usually be found cheaper than the EarFun buds.
What earbuds am I talking about? The answer is the Anker Soundcore Liberty 4NC. These earbuds feature a comfortable design, IPX4 water resistance, decent microphone quality, Bluetooth 5.3, and support for the LDAC codec.
The Liberty 4NC received very good scores for sound quality. The active noise cancellation on these earbuds performs well given their price tag, reducing the loudness of outside noise by about 81%, which is really good.
Best earbuds for iPhone under $200
If you’re willing to spend more than $100 but don’t want to break the bank, I’ve got two more options for you under $200. First off, we have the new AirPods 4 with ANC.
These earbuds surprised me because they were the first pair of AirPods that fit comfortably and securely in my ear, and I didn’t need any third-party ear hooks. I found them way more comfortable to wear than the AirPods Pro 2. They also boast an IP54 rating, making the earbuds both dust- and water-resistant, which is great if you’re looking for a pair of workout earbuds for your iPhone.
Beyond the improved design, the AirPods 4 with active noise cancellation feature decent ANC performance despite using an unsealed design. They also offer really good sound quality. Of course, as with all AirPods, you also get access to a bunch of platform-exclusive features, such as seamless device switching between Apple devices, Apple spatial audio, hands-free Siri, conversation awareness, and voice isolation – just to name a few.
At around $170, the AirPods 4 with active noise cancellation is starting to stretch the wallet a little bit. So if you’re looking for something less expensive, then a second option to consider is the Nothing Ear.
The Nothing Ear features a unique and comfortable design, decent noise-canceling performance, and plenty of customization options via the Nothing X app. The app has one of the best equalizers I’ve ever used in a headphone app.
Best overall options
Okay, let’s say you’re ready to take your checking account for a ride and want the best earbuds for your iPhone. Which should you buy? Well, once again, I’ve got two options for you.
The first and most obvious option has to be the AirPods Pro 2. These earbuds may technically be two years old, but even today they still offer a very good design, intuitive pinch-and-swipe controls, and a ton of Apple-specific device features that make the AirPods Pro 2 a great addition to your Apple device ecosystem.
The AirPods Pro 2 showed excellent sound quality, and I’m sure most people will like how these earbuds sound right out of the box. Not only that, the AirPods Pro 2 remains one of the best wireless earbuds with active noise cancellation, reducing the loudness of outside noise by an average of 83%. That’s excellent, whether you’re riding a subway or flying on a plane.
If AirPods aren’t your thing, but you’re still willing to spend on a great pair of true wireless earbuds, then I highly recommend the Sony WF-1000XM5. These earbuds boast great sound quality, excellent noise-canceling performance, and a lot of customization options via the Sony Sound Connect app.
The app works very well on both Android and iOS – though iOS is the focus here, of course. So, good job, Sony!
Thanks for reading and don’t forget to figure out what Snapdragon sound is. 😉
